This is a wonderful Pilates based workout that really tones your entire body, especially the abs. Even better, Denise really targets the lower abs, muscles that many other workouts often overlook. However, if you are an absolute beginner at Pilates, I would recommend getting your feet wet with tapes like Jennifer Kries' 3-D Toning or Precision Pilates before graduating to this workout. If you do have some Pilates experience, however, I predict you'll love the exercises and routines in this video. You'll find many classic Pilates and yoga moves along with a few innovative twists that really help you achieve maximum results in tough to tone areas. A yoga/tai-chi type warmup and stretch round out this comprehensive workout. Denise's style is a little chatty for my taste. If you like the encouraging, cheerleader type of instructor, you'll love her. Otherwise, you may find the constant chatter annoying. Usually I would be in the latter category, but this workout is so good that if I can get myself into the zone, I find her voice hypnotic rather annoying. I like this video and it is in my group of current favorites -- the ones that I do over and over again -- but on some days, I prefer someone a little less vocal.
