This is my new favorite workout! Kari's fun choreography keeps you thinking, but while it may be challenging, it's still very do-able. It will be a long time before you get bored with this workout, even the warm up and cool down are fun. The aerobic portion begin right away with the warm up - Kari wastes no time in getting you moving. At first all the twists and turns may seem confusing, but just do the basic combinations until you get used to it. My only negative critique is that it would be nice to have at least one of the class members doing the basic version. As it is, everyone does the full combos with all the turns and advanced moves. While the basic combos are simply enough that it's not a huge deal, having someone doing the basic version would make it easier for beginners to get up to speed. Another particularly nice feature of this DVD is the workout options - there are two 35 minute short workouts in which you do combinations 1 and 2, or 3 and 4 with warm up and cool down. Once you learn the choreography, you can even do a 25 minute quickie workout with all four combinations (no instructional building the combos just the finished routines), plus a warm up and cool down. Of course, you can always do the full 60 minute workout too. All the versions end with a nice stretch done to relaxing music - the perfect antidote to bring you back to earth after a heart pumping, endorphin inducing step routine. If you're looking for a fun, challenging intermediate to advanced step aerobic workout, this one is hard to beat.
