I love Collector's Press entire series of "Retro" books -- they're fun, gorgeously produced in glorious full color, contain quality articles and recipes and vintage artwork and photos, and they always make wonderful gifts. Retro Luau has everything you need to plan a great tropical party - from decorations to party games, great Polynesian inspired food and drinks and much more. A Luau party makes a festive way to celebrate any summer occasion, and planning a perfect party is easy with this book as your guide. Most of the recipes are ultra easy to make and very straight forward, but for those who want to get really ambitious and go for the full blown traditional Polynesian Luau, there's even a chapter that details how to authentically roast an entire kalua pig. Don't worry if the whole hog is more than you want to tackle there's also some terrific, simple pork recipes that make great substitutes. The entire book is done in full color with lots of great 50s style artwork and photos, giving it a kitschy nostalgic feel that makes it fun to browse through.
