Before I lose half the audience at the start, let me say this is much more than a cookbook for menopausal women, although to be sure, it will do them the most good. My point, however, is that these are really wonderful, healthy, tasty recipes that nearly everyone will enjoy, even men! It's medical purpose aside, this is one of the best cookbooks I have seen in recent times. If you have any doubt, just flip through its pages and take a look at the mouth-watering photographs. In this insightful book, Glenville demonstrates how diet can help women avoid the symptoms of menopause safely and naturally. Phytoestrogens, plant hormones that are naturally contained in everyday foods, have been scientifically proven to fight diseases such as osteoporosis, heart disease and breast cancer as well as help balance hormones for both women and men. After introductory chapters in which Glenville explains the important foods for menopausal women to eat and which foods to avoid, as well as recent findings about HRT, she progresses to a fabulous collection of health inducing recipes. But back to my original point - despite all the health claims, these are just great recipes for wonderful tasting food that everyone will enjoy. What more could you want?
