Unglazed stones used for baking breads and pizzas. A stone can be placed
in the oven (and kept there when not in use) where it retains heat and
makes an ideal surface for baking breads. A baking stone is invaluable
for getting the "perfect" crust and it can also help your oven to run
more efficiently because of its heat retaining properties.
Less expensive are baking tiles (usually 8-12" square), that can be
placed together for a larger cooking surface.
