A method of cutting food into matchstick-like strips. To julienne, first
peel the food and cut away any unwanted parts. If your food is rounded
(like carrots or potatoes) cut off a piece so that it can sit flat. Cut
the food into slices about 1/8-inch. Stack the slices and cut them into
strips about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the strips into the desired length.
