A concentrated paste made from tomatoes. It is available in cans or in
tubes. Since tomato paste is so concentrated, a recipe rarely calls for
much of it. For this reason, I prefer to get tubes of tomato paste, as
you can use just the amount you need and the rest will keep a very long
time in your refrigerator.
