Also known as Muskmelon
A round melon with a fragrant, juicy orange flesh which provides excellent
sources of Vitamins A and C. Choose melons that are heavy for their
size, have a sweet fragrance and give to gentle pressure. A ripe cantalope
should have beige skin, green indicates under-ripeness. Store ripe fruit
in the refrigerator, under-ripe fruit at room temperature to ripen.
To serve, cut in half and scoop out the seeds. Serve as a "fruit
bowl" or peel and cut up the orange flesh.
