Bread crumbs are often used as a coating, as well as a principal ingredients
in such dishes as stuffing. You can make them by drying stale bread in
an oven at very low temperature and then making crumbs of it in a food
processor. If a recipe calls for fresh bread crumbs you can make them
the same way, just don't dry the bread out first. Ready made bread crumbs
are label at grocery stores.
