Review: Here's a fun title from Mark Batty publishers -- an ultra hip tribute to the pop culture signs and advertising relating to fried chicken across the United States.  This visual homage contains no recipes, but its colorful artwork will make you nostalgic and more likely to throwhealthy, low cal dieting to the wind -- at least for one meal -- as you go out in search of the best fried chicken in your area. Perhaps you can even find some of the fried chicken purveyors interviewed for and quoted in this book -- people who take their craft seriously.

Few dishes can be as enticing as fried chicken when it's done correctly (or awful when it's not).  The author obviously feels the same way.  Page after page of full color artwork celebrates the often subtle regional difference between the artwork that entices diners towards their dinners.

The signage and menus of American's independent fast food restaurants really represent some of our nation's most authentic folk art.  Take a look through these pages and find out why.
