Author Notes: The "essence" of good cooking is spices. This spice blend is quite versatile and can be used in all sorts of ways. Rub it on meats before grilling, add it into soups, dips, or other dishes. Use your imagination!
Ingredients: 8 tablespoons paprika
3 tablespoons cayenne
5 tablespoons fresh ground pepper
6 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
6 tablespoons salt (can be adjusted to taste)
2 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
Instructions: Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in an air tight container for up to three months. Can be doubled or tripled.
