4 ham steaks
2 teaspoons onion, finely chopped 1 teaspoon brown sugar 2 teaspoons Irish Whiskey 1 tablespoon flour 1 tablespoon butter, melted 3/4 cup water or chicken stock salt and pepper to taste |

Remove from heat and stir in flour gradually. Add water or stock. Return to heat. Add sugar and bring to the boil. Simmer gently for about 2 minutes to cook flour.
