Recipe for Creamy Cole Slaw. This is the recipe for classic, creamy cole slaw. Since this versatile salad goes with so many dishes, it's a good one to have in your repertoire.
Ingredients
- 1 large head of green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1/4 head red cabbage, finely shredded
- 2 large carrots, finely shredded
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons white wine or rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- salt pepper to taste
Directions
- Mix together mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar and oil. Add onion powder, mustard, celery salt, pepper, buttermilk and salt and pepper. Pour over shredded vegetables in a large bowl. Toss until well coated. Let chill for a few hours before serving.
