Cherry Granola Kugel

Recipe for Cherry Granola Kugel. Kugel is very popular during the Jewish holidays and is generally served hot in the evening, as part of the main course or dessert, but this one is good for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 12 ounces cherry preserves
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups frozen sweet dark cherries, pitted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • Granola Topping
  • 1 cup granola cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • cinnamon to taste

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook noodles; drain.
  2. 3. Beat eggs and milk together and pour into noodle mixture. Add cinnamon. Stir in cherry preserves and cherries.
  3. 4. Pour noodle mixture into greased 9x13-inch pan.
  4. 5. Mix together butter and granola and sprinkle over kugel. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  5. 6. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
