Author Notes: This is a classic flavor combo that you've just got to try! Kicked up with a little onion and rolling around in some butter - green peas never had it so good! Kids, this is pretty easy to make, so this is one you can do while your folks are making another dish to go with it.
Ingredients: Tools:
2 to 3 quart saucepan with a lid
measuring cups and spoons
wooden spoon
cutting board
chef's knife
large slotted spoon
oven mitts or pot holders

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup minced yellow onion
1 pound frozen green peas, not thawed
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint
Instructions: Yield: About 3 Cups

1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.

2.
Add the onion and cook, stirring, until soft, about 3 minutes.

3.
Add the peas and water and bring to a boil.

4.
Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the saucepan, and simmer until tender, about 4 minutes.

5.
Remove from the heat.

6.
Add the salt and mint and stir.

7.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the peas to serving plates.

8.
Serve hot.
