Author Notes:

This recipe was given to us by our friend April S. Fields, author of the fabulous book 101 Low-Carb & Sugar-free Dessert Recipes. For some of April's informative low carb articles, check out the related links below.

Ingredients: 8 ounces homemade whole yogurt (see features links below)
3 tablespoons whey protein powder*
1/2 cup sugarfree vanilla syrup
1/2 teaspoon orange flavored unsweetened powdered drink mix (like Kool-Aid®)
1 1/2 - 2 cups crushed ice
Instructions: Blend all ingredients except ice on high in a blender then add crushed ice. Blend until thick and smooth. If you put this in a frozen mug it will continue to thicken and you may be forced to eat it with a spoon; one of those hard jobs, but someone has to do it.

* The whey protein isolate is available at Walmart in different flavors, although I buy mine at a health food store because I prefer the unsweetened, unflavored variety.

1 Serving: 7 carbs/22 grams protein
