Author Notes: I found that I like to experiment with various toppings for scalloped potatoes.  The bread crumbs one was surprisingly good one as it added a crusty layer on top.  You might want to play around with your own variations.  Have some fun.

See my blog about cheesy scalloped potatoes.
Ingredients: 5-8 medium potatoes, sliced (about 6 to 8 cups)
1/2 cup of fresh onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
shredded cheese or bread crumbs (optional)
Instructions:

Mix salt, pepper, garlic, cream of chicken, milk, and sour cream together in a medium sized microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. Mix again. Set aside.

Place and mix together potatoes and onions in a oven-proof, greased baking dish. Pour seasoning mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, covered.

Remove from oven and stir well. Sprinkle optional topping over and return to oven for 20 minutes, uncovered. Serve warm.

Enjoy your scalloped potatoes.
