Servings: 8
Author Notes: Here is a tasty party snack that also makes a terrific gift, on its own or tucked into a gift basket.
Ingredients: 2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons allspice
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 egg whites
1/3 cup water
2 pounds mixed shelled raw nuts such as pecans, almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 250°F. Grease a large baking sheet.

Mix dry ingredients in a large, shallow bowl. Beat the egg whites and water in a small bowl.

Dip the nuts into the egg white mixture, one at a time, then roll in the sugar mixture. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 90 minutes or until the coating is dry. Shake off excess sugar and store in an airtight container.
