This California style pizza recipe is a great way to use grilled chicken breasts, so we always throw a few on the grill anytime we have it going. For the cheese in this recipe you could use greated mozzarella, but you can clean out your cheese drawer as well as add extra flavor to the recipe by mixing and matching whatever you have on hand of the following: mozzarella, gruyere, Swiss, fontina, gouda, provolone with a little hard cheese like Parmesan or Romano for good measure. I prefer to bake my pizza on a stone in a hot oven. If you don’t have a baking stone (and anyone who regularly makes pizza at home really should have one), you can bake this pizza on a pizza pan instead. |
| Ingredients: |
1 recipe pizza dough of your choice (see related recipes section below for links to some good options) 2 grilled boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce 6-8 ounces grated cheese (seenote above) 1/4 cup sliced green onions |
| Instructions: |
Preheat oven to 450ºF.
Top pizza with a thin coating of barbecue sauce. Spread on a thin layer of greated cheese. Sprinkle on chopped chicken and green onions. Bake for about 12- 15 minutes or until crust is starting to brown and cheese is melted. |
