If you can't get Kobe beef (or don't want to go to the expense), you can make this recipe using your favorite American strip steak.

Ingredients: 12 ounces Kobe beef strip steak
4 ounces butter
4 ounces sourdough bread, diced
1 ounce red onion, sliced
1 ounce cucumber, sliced
2 ounces ripe tomato, sliced
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

Season the beef heavily with salt and pepper. Roast in a pan for 6 minutes on each side, while constantly basting with butter until medium-rare.

Toast the bread in an oven for 5 minutes. Place the bread in a bowl and add remaining ingredients. Slice the steak and place it over the top of the bread salad.
