Servings: 4
Author Notes: This burger has the fresh classic flavors of ripe tomatoes, fresh basil and provolone cheese. Yum!

Ingredients: 1 1/3 pounds ground beef
1 large ripe tomato
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
4 slices Provolone cheese
4 crusty white or whole wheat rolls, split lettuce
Instructions: Lightly shape ground beef into four 3/4"-thick patties. Place patties on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes or until centers of patties are no longer pink and onions are tender, turning occasionally. Season burgers with salt if desired, after turning. Melt cheese on burger about a minute before you're ready to take it off the fire. Line bottom of each toasted roll with lettuce. Serve burgers on toasted buns topped with tomato-basil mixture.
