Use this recipe as a guideline to create some awesome hamburgers (it works with turkey burgers too!). Mix the meat hours ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to cook for the best flavor. Grilling is best in my opinion, especially over an open fire. You can easily double or triple this recipe to feed a crowd. Mix and match burger mix-ins to suit your taste. For instance, not everyone will like the spice of jalapeños, but these make awesome Southwestern style burgers (barbecue sauce works better than soy sauce in this instance). You'll probably come up with your own additions as well.

1 pound ground beef Mix and Match According to Taste: 3-4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 onion, minced 1/2 bell pepper, minced 1-3 tablespoons minced jalapeño peppers 1/4 cup minced mild green chiles 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/3 cup minced black olives 1 egg mixed fresh chopped herbs like basil, parsley, cilantro or dill 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup barbecue sauce |
| Instructions: | Mix ground meat with your choice of add-ins, shape into patties and grill or broil as usual. Serve on a bun with favorite toppings or use ground sirloin and serve on a plate like a steak dinner. |
