| Author Notes: | Fabulous Foods reader Suzy Hicks shared this favorite family recipe with us. Suzy remembers her Mom making cakes like this one when she was growing up and she continues the tradition in her own family today. |
| Ingredients: |
1 yellow cake mix
1 can (16 ounces) crushed pineapple with juice 1 cup sugar 1 small box vanilla instant pudding 2 cups milk 8 ounces cream cheese 3 bananas 1 small container of Cool Whip 1 cup chopped pecans 1 cup diced marashino cherries |
| Instructions: |
Bake cake according to package directions in a 9 X 13 inch pan.
Mix sugar and pineapple in a saucepan, boil for 5 minutes, pour over cake evenly while everything is still hot. Cool and set aside. Put milk, cream cheese and pudding together in bowl and beat well. Spread evenly over cold cake. Slice bananas evenly over cake, top with Cool Whip®, pecans and cherries. Refrigerate until ready to serve. |
