Author Notes: With wine, brandy, fruit juices and spices, this is a perfect winter warm up.  This recipe comes to us from chef Dario Marquez of Fort Lauderdale, Florida's Mistral. Restaurant.
Ingredients: 4 cups red wine (preferably a Burgundy or Pinot Noir)
4 ounces brandy
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ounce lemon juice
1 cup orange juice
3 to 4 whole cloves
8 to 10 whole peppercorns
5 whole cinnamon sticks
Instructions: In a four-quart saucepan, combine all ingredients except the wine. Bring to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes. Reduce by half. Lower heat and add the wine. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not boil a second time. Strain through a fine sieve. Serve hot and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
