  • When using Lipton's Onion mix for flavor you can make a low fat meatloaf that will be firm by using 1 pound ground turkey, and 1 pound ground beef, and 1/2 bread crumbs, you will still need to drain the fat off half way thru cooking time. And at that point add 3-4 Tablespoons of any type barbeque sauce to the top for added color and flavor.

  • Put half of meatloaf mixture in loaf pan, layer pepperoni and chedder cheese and then cover with remainder of meat mixture. 15 minutes before meatloaf is done spread a half cup of your favorite pasta sauce on top and bake for 15 more minutes.

  • When making meatloaf take some chicken base and mix it with hot water and add to your hamburger mixture. Not only does it give your meatloaf a great boost in flavor it also keeps the meatloaf moister and warms your hands a bit while mixing. You may want to use some breadcrumbs to help absorb the excess moisture depending on how much broth you use.

  • To add flavor to meatloaf, I add dry onion soup mix (any flavor) to the meat mixture. Other than garlic, you really don't need any other seasonings. I do the same when making hamburger steaks and grilled onions.

  • I like to add a pinch of Nutmeg,it gives it a different taste.Sometimes i add Cumin,Oregano,Garlic & a little grated cheese.
