  • Here's a way to keep Romaine Lettuce, radishes, and celery fresh in the refrigerator for longer periods as well as recycle the plastic bags that fresh produce comes in. Wrap the Romaine and celery separately in a dry paper towel and put each into one of the plastic bags it came in. Get as much air out of the bag as you can, close and refrigerate until needed. If the celery is too long for one bag then use a bag on each end. For radishes, dry with a paper towel, put into a plastic container with a dry paper towel, cover and refrigerate until needed. These items should keep for a couple of weeks or more.
