Below is a typical menu for one day at either The Oaks or The Palms

FoodMORNING
7:45 - 9:15 Breakfast (200 calories) whole grain muffin, fresh fruit, vitamin pack.

10:45 - 11:15 Broth Break (15 calories) high potassium vegetable broth.

AFTERNOON
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch (350 calories) soup, entree salad, fresh fruit.

3:45 - 4:45 Veggie Break (20 calories) assorted raw vegetables and dip.

EVENING
5:00 - 6:00 Happy Hour (20 calories) fresh fruit and juice blend served over ice.

6:00 - 7:00 Dinner (350 calories) salad; seafood, vegetarian or poultry entree; dessert (such as kiwi glazed cheesecake), gourmet flavored dessert coffee (water processed decaffeinated).

8:15 - 8:30 Evening Snack (25+ calories) Oaks cookie, popcorn or cooking demo sample. Coffee, decaffeinated coffee, tea, herb teas and lemon water are available 24 hours a day.

Many if The Oaks and Palms guests have special dietary needs. To that end the following alternative options are offered

SaladBreakfast: The following items are available, in addition to, or instead of, the basic breakfast (calories are listed also):

Hard boiled egg (80), Shredded wheat with banana (160), 1/2C nonfat yogurt (70), Oatmeal cookie with fruit (120), 1/2C low fat cottage cheese (100), 5 prunes (100)

Lunch or Dinner:For specialized diet needs and for different tastes guests may select from the following:

High Fiber Salad (240) - bowl of raw crunchy vegetables and fruit (combined with basic breakfast makes up a "cleansing day").

High Protein Salad (240) - Combination of poultry (white meat) or tuna and low-fat cottage cheese on lettuce with vegetable garnishes and salsa dressing.

Dinner Only: Steamed veggies, rice and cheese (200), Chicken and steamed veggies (200).

Other Dining Options Include: Dessert - fresh fruit may be substituted for dessert

Athlete's Portion - extra portions of bread, baked potato or whole grains bring calorie count up to approximately 1300.

The nurse is also available from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm daily to discuss dietary concerns such as vegetarian lifestyles, food allergies ad special 750 calorie diet days.
