Napkin Folding -- Decorative Pocket


This simple napkin folding technique is perfect for picnics or children's parties as it neatly keeps napkins and cutlery together. You can also use the pocket to hold small flowers, party favors or other decorations.

how to fold napkins 1. Start with a large square cloth or paper napkin.
napkin folding 2. Fold it in half.
napkin folding 3. Fold in half again to make a smaller square (original napkin is now folded into quarters).
4. With the four loose corners at the top, begin rolling the top later down until it reaches the halfway point. Press the roll flat with your hand.

5. Bring the second layer down and tuck under the rolled band, so the edge forms a parallel band slightly narrower than the first.

table settings 6. Repeat this process with the third layer.

7. Turn entire napkin over and fold in the two sides, overlapping them and gently tucking one side into the other.

8. Turn over and use pocket to hold cutlery, flowers or party favors, as in the photo at the top of this page.
