Napkin Folding -- Decorative Pocket


This simple napkin folding technique is perfect for picnics or children's parties as it neatly keeps napkins and cutlery together. You can also use the pocket to hold small flowers, party favors or other decorations.

how to fold napkins 1. Start with a large square cloth or paper napkin.
napkin folding 2. Fold it in half.
napkin folding 3. Fold in half again to make a smaller square (original napkin is now folded into quarters).
napkin folding 4. With the four loose points at the top, fold the top layer down, not quite flush with the bottom.

5. Repeat this step with the next layer.
napkin folding 6. And again with the next layer.

7. Turn entire napkin over and fold in the two sides to form a point in the middle, gently tucking one side into the other.

8. Turn over and use pocket to hold cutlery, flowers or party favors, as in the photo at the top of this page.
