San Franciscans
take their coffee seriously. You'd be hard pressed to find such a concentration
of quality coffee shops in such a small area anywhere else in the country.
Of course all the best shops roast their own. According to SF native Tom
Medin, no self respecting San Franciscan would go to a shop that didn't
roast their own.
Tom's Local Taste of the City Tours are a great way to get acquainted
with the finest coffees the City by the Bay has to offer. You'll get a
great general coffee education along the way too.
Throughout the tour you'll stop at coffee shops, as well as fine chocolatiers,
incredible bakeries, and gourmet Italian groceries. You'll get to taste
the wares at each stop, all while being entertained by Tom's informative
commentary. It's a wonderful way for foodies to spend an afternoon in
San Francisco, but take my advice, do it on a day when you don't have
dinner reservations. You'll be so full at the end of the tour, you won't
need a big meal later.
