Quilling, the art of twirling paper into decorative designs, is
a simple craft made from a simple material -- narrow strips of rolled
paper. You can buy precut quilling strips, but if you have a paper
trimmer (and anyone interested in paper crafts should), why
go through the expense? It's simple to cut your own strips. I
regularly cut scraps of scrapbook paper into quilling strips and
I never run out.
Quilling strips are regularly 1/8 inch thick and I find this works
well. You can cut them wider if you prefer. With most quilling designs,
it's important to be precise, but with freeform designs like our

package ornaments, you can mix and match strip widths and they
will still look great.
