Dolly and Annie Watts' unique Vancouver restaurant -- the only First Nations fine dining establishment of its kind and winner of a four star rating from the New York Times - has closed its doors forever. But fans of the restaurant, which celebrated the food traditions of North America's indigenous peoples, will happy to know that the flavor lives on this book which is sure to make fans of generations to come who will never have the chance to visit the Liliget Feast House.

This eclectic collection includes over 150 consumer friendly recipes and 16 full color photographs. There are many game recipes as well as those which make use of the northwest's diverse native culinary ingredients. Also unique is the chapter on smoking fish and game and making preserves. The authors offer tips, suggestions and substitutions along the way, so that cooks everywhere will be able to prepare the recipes.

Just like the foods that were served at Dolly and Annie's restaurant, The Liliget Feast House, the recipes in this book represent both the traditional and the modern. Many are steeped in Native history and tradition while others are contemporary versions that get flavorful accents from other cuisines around the world.
