Author Notes: Asparagus mixes well with nuts, and this recipe is good example why.

Asparagus Tip: When buying asparagus, look for firm, bright green spears with tightly closed tips.

Ingredients: 1 pound fresh asparagus
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions: Snap off tough ends of asparagus and steam until crisp-tender - about 6 minutes. Cook almonds in butter over low heat until golden brown. Stir in lemon juice. Arrange steamed asparagus on a serving plate and drizzle almond butter mixture over asparagus. Serve.
