For anyone following a low carb diet who might be starting to get bored, help is here. Dr. Atkins' New Diet Cookbook contains 250 recipes, 7-day meal plans, nutrition goals as well as traveling and restaurant tips.
The meals are so delicious, the book could easily be used by non-dieters, but low carb enthusiasts will especially appreciate the wide variety of foods to choose from. There are even lots of desserts (yes Virginia, there really are low carb desserts on the Atkins plan) including ice creams, mousses and pies. Since this is an area most low carb dieters find lacking, the book is worth the price for the dessert chapter alone. But Atkins and Gare offer much more including recipes for creative breakfasts, appetizers, soups, salads, dressings, meat, poultry, seafood, pastas and breads. Granted some dishes, such as the pastas, are not what we are typically used to, but they're not bad and can put the breaks on a carb craving as well as add new variety to your diet.
