With so many low carb cookbooks coming out these days, some of them are starting to run together and look all too familiar. Not so with Cajun Low Carb. These Cajun style low carb recipes will breathe a breath of fresh air into any bored low carber's diet.
Author Jude Theriot a professional Louisiana chef, takes low carb cooking to new places in this inspired collection that highlights Cajun favorites along with delicious low carb takes on lots of traditional American fare. So delicious are these dishes, you could easily serve them to non-low carbers and no one will be the wiser. While all the chapters in this book contain lots of delicious sounding recipes that are sure to inspire you to cook, the seafood chapters are especially of note, containing tons of tempting uses for shrimp, crab, oysters, and fish. Seafood lovers, whether low carb dieting or not, will surely find many recipes to add to their regular cooking repertoires. Each of Jude Theriot's cookbooks (and this is no exception) contain "lagniappe" -- little tidbits of extra information that include serving suggestions, make head advice, additional uses for recipes and more. Of course, each recipe also comes with nutritional information -- serving size, total carbohydrates per serving (which includes sugar alcohols), net carbohydrates per serving, and calorie count. Chapters include: Seasoning Mixes; Sauces; Appetizers; Gumbos, Stocks and Soups; Salads and Salad Dressings; Breakfast Dishes; Seafood; Meats; Poultry; Vegetables; and Desserts. |
