Various companies are getting into the 100 calorie game. Snyders of Hanover offers a variety of their popular pretzels in 100 calories bags. Pop Secret makes a portion controlled 100 calorie bag of microwave popcorn. Potato chip lovers will enjoy a 100 calorie pack of Pringles. Nabisco has several sweet and salty offerings in the 100 calorie pack arena. Chex Party Mix and cheese crackers will cover salt cravings. They also make 100 calorie pack versions of Nutter Butter, Chips Ahoy and Oreo Cookies. I say "versions" because these are not the same full fat versions you get in the large packs. These cookie "crisps" are like a cross between a cookie and a cracker, but they are sweet and crunchy and do satisfy a snacking urge. No, the amount in the 100 calorie bags is not huge, but it is more than you might imagine -- certainly enough to put the breaks on a craving for sweet or salty snacks. I find it especially helpful to keep a pack or two in the car in order to never be stuck away from home without options that won't blow my diet. For the mere 100 calories involved, you can have your snacks and eat them too! |

Here's a diet trend we really like -- 100 calories snack packs. It solves one of dieters biggest problems -- portion control. One bag equals 100 calories. Easy.
