Author Notes: This cute gift tag is made from a rubber stamped image layered on top of various sized squares -- the outer layer is corrugated for extra interest.  If you don't have a corrugating tool, leave this layer flat.

Supplies: paper scraps in green, red, and white

square and circle shape cutter tool or templates (we used Fiskars Shape Cutter with the Squares and Circles templates)
wreath rubber stamp (ours came from an inexpensive set of kid's Christmas stamps)
dark green rubber stamping ink
metallic gold rubber stamping ink
red and gold gel pens
adhesives (we used a Xyron adhesive machine, you could also use spray adhesives or glue sticks or adhesive runners)
round hole punch
narrow strip of green paper
paper corrugating tool like the one made by Fiskars

Instructions:

Step 1. We used the Fiskar's Shape Cutter with the Squares and Circles templates to cut our papers. You can make your tag any size you like. For the tag in the photo, the outer red layer measures 3 1/2 inches square. The inner white mat measures 2 inches square, and the center green square measures 2 1/4 inches square, and has a 2 inch diameter circle cut out of its center. It may seem like a lot of cutting, but with a tool like the Shape Cutter, it's a snap.

Step 1 A. (Optional) -- Put the red square through a paper corrugating tool to give it texture.

Step 2. Take a gold ink pad and brush it around the outside edge of the red square to give the edge a thin gold border.

Step 3. Using dark green ink, stamp the wreath on the white card stock

Step 4. Use a red gel pen or felt tipped marker to color in the bow and holly berries on the wreath stamped image.

Step 5. Use a metallic gold gel pen to color a narrow border around the outside of the image.

Step 6. Apply a thin layer of adhesive from a glue stick or spray adhesive to the back of all the paper elements except the large yellow square (you can alternatively run the pieces through an adhesive machine like those made by Xyron).

Step 7. Using the photo above as a guide, glue down the squares -- white on top of red, green on top of white.

Step 8. Use a round hole punch to punch a hole in the center top edge of the tag. Thread a narrow red paper strip through the hole in order to attach it to the gift.
