| Author Notes: | In the tradition of naming our K9 recipes after our favorite dogs, this one is named for Haylee, our neighbor's dog and a good friend and playmate to my Ziggy, Zoey and Zeena. My dogs (and Haylee) love the peanut butter flavor of these wholesome treats. That's Haylee in the photo. |
| Ingredients: |
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/4 cups rolled oats 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 cup warm water 1/3 cup peanut butter |
| Instructions: |
Preheat oven to 300°F. Mix the dry ingredients together. Mix water and peanut butter together then blend into dry ingredients until you get a firm dough. Blend both mixtures until a firm dough is achieved. Shape dough into an oblong roll, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for an hour. Lightly grease two baking sheet. Slice roll into 1/2 inch slices, place on baking sheet and bake for about 50 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely before giving them to your furry friends. |
