Coconut Pecan Icing

Fabulous Foods reader Suzy Hicks shared this favorite family recipe with us. This icing was meant for Suzy's German Chocolate Cake recipe.

Ingredients: 1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 beaten egg yolks
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups sweetened coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions: Mix all ingredients except coconut and pecans in a medium saucepan and cook over low heat until mixture thickens, about 10 - 12 minutes. Stir in coconut and pecans. Cool before frosting cake. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
