1 cup sifted pastry flour 1 level teaspoon baking powder 1 level teaspoon confectioner's sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/4 cup milk 2 apples, peeled, cored, and cut into small pieces hot fat for frying |
| Instructions: |
Makes 12 - 15 Fritters Depending on Size Sift together three times the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add the milk to the beaten egg and stir in the sifted ingredients. Then stir in the bits of apple. Drop the batter into the hot fat by spoonsful and let fry until delicately browned. Drain on soft paper. Serve with confectioner's sugar. May also be served with a bowl of thick cream. |
