It stands to reason that a cookbook celebrating the Goddess would be seasonal, and cook, artist and writer Karri Allrich does a great job with this creative collection of vegetarian recipes. Each season or section of the book takes advantage of ingredients that are "at their best" at that time of year. There are seasonal recipes for Beverages and Bites, Soups, Everyday Feasts (main courses), Savory Sides, Spring Salads and Sweet Endings.
The author also offers festival menus for those preparing to celebrate the major Pagan holidays that occur throughout the year: Ostara, Beltane, Summer Solstice, Lughnasadh, Autumn Equinox or Mabon, Samhain, Yule and Candlemas. Even if you have no interest in the goddess aspect, the flavorful vegetarian recipes are good enough to merit adding to your vegetarian collection. All are simple to prepare (the author is also a mother of two), use healthy, fresh ingredients, and really can expand your vegetarian cooking repertoire.
