We love Pelican Press' "New Orleans Classic" series of books. Each takes a look at a different aspect of the best of the best culinary fare from a city known the world over for its fabulous food. In this case the topic is seafood, one of the Crescent City's favorite ingredients. Situated as it is on the Gulf of Mexico, New Orleans has a lot to celebrate in the way of seafood and this book highlights some of the best seafood recipes the city has to offer courtesy of some of her best chefs and restaurants. New Orleans classics along with new favorites are among the more than 50 recipes, all accompanied by notes on the recipes and restaurants, legends and lore, and lots of full color photos. There are even recipes from classic restaurants that no longer exist. Chefs/Cooks and restaurants represented include: Emeril Lagasse, Marcelle Bienvenu, John Folse, Acme Oyster House, Dooky Chase, Antoine's, Commander's Palace, Galatoire's, Redfish Grill, and Mr. B's Bistro. Chapters include: Crabs; Crawfish; Oysters; Shrimp; Fish and Seafood Combos; Seasonings. Sample Recipes -- Check This Book Out!
