If you love smoothies -- those icy cold, frothy sensations turned out with a few simple ingredients and a blender - then this book will give you lots of inspiration. Husband and wife team Cynthia and Christopher Clarke collaborated on this volume with Cynthia's time tested recipes showcased in the glorious full of Christopher's stylish photos. There is actually a color photo of each recipe. The book covers smoothies based on oranges, raspberries, pineapple, peaches, apples, cranberry juice, lemonade, limeade as well as those made with carbonated beverages and yogurt. Cynthia also gives advice on what to do with leftovers if you make too much as well as smoothie supplements and add ins. My only real complaint about this book is that I wish it contained a chapter on spa type smoothies - those made without any yogurt, sherbet or ice cream. That said, the 60 recipes that are included are delicious and can provide a nutritious and low fat treat anytime. Kids as well as adults love smoothies. Dig out the blender folks! |
