Eating outside the home is one of, if not THE, biggest challenge facing those trying to lose weight. Help is here for those following the popular South Beach Diet.
This book is similar to my own Low Carb Restaurant Guide (2004, M Evans), but specifically geared to the dietary requirements of Dr. Arthur Agatston's South Beach Diet. Every major and most minor chain restaurants found in the USA (and often abroad) are covered. When available nutritional information is given for South Beach friendly dishes, but even when no nutritional information is available on a given restaurant, Dr. Agatston still provides readers with the best South Beach friendly menu items the establishment offers.
More than just chain restaurants, the South Beach Diet Dining Guide also offers menu choice recommendations for some of the most popular fine dining restaurants in major metropolitan areas. Business travelers who need to entertain clients at trendy restaurants will especially appreciate these sections which give a handful of restaurants choices in each of these cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Orlando, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.
This book, along with the South Beach Diet itself, is the work of Dr. Arthur Agatston, an associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. The good doctor is a busy man. He also maintains a private cardiology practice, focused on prevention, in Miami Beach. In addition to this book, Dr. Agatston has authored numerous scientific publications, and has reviewed manuscripts for major medical and cardiology journals.
