3 Fabulous superfood smoothies

Superfoods are foods that are loaded with high amounts of vitamins and nutrients. These little marvels like blueberries, acai berries, chia seeds and pomegranates give your body a lot of what it needs with a just a small serving and (for the most part) taste delicious. Of course, while one superfood is good, eating a lot of them is better, which is why we're going to turn our superfoods into smoothies and drink our way to good health at home or on the go.

Acai, blueberry, chia seed smoothie

Yields 1 smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup acai berries
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoons honey

Directions:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Tofu, pomegranate and acai smoothie

Yields 1 smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup silken tofu
  • 1/4 cup grape or cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/4 cup acai berries
  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar

Directions:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Pineapple, cilantro, spinach and blueberry smoothie

Yields 1 smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1/4 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
