Hot spiced cocktails are perfect for a cold night. Try a hot toddy or a hot buttered rum to warm up with.
Hot buttered rum
Serves 2
Cool nights and feelings of a cold just scream for a hot cocktail to sip. This recipe is perfect for sipping after a long, hard day or to celebrate the end of a great day.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons somewhat soft butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- Freshly grated nutmeg (1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon)
- Hot water
- 2 ounces spiced rum
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg together with a fork or small whisk.
- Add 1/2 of the spiced butter mixture to the bottom of each mug.
- Pour the hot water into each mug, then add one shot of rum to each mug. Stir and enjoy.
Hot toddy
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 bags chamomile tea
- Hot water
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 ounces bourbon whiskey
Directions:
- Place 1 tea bag in each mug, then pour hot water over each and add 1 teaspoon of honey to each mug.
- Allow the tea to steep for 2-4 minutes (depending on desired strength).
- Add 1 ounce of bourbon whiskey to each mug, stir to combine and enjoy.
