Nutella Banana Bread recipe. Nutella can turn cookies, cakes, and candies into something extraordinary. It can also do the same for sweet breads, like banana bread.
Nutella, perhaps the world's most popular chocolate hazelnut spread, can pretty much make anything better. For something as good as it is all by itself, Nutella can turn cookies, cakes, and candies into something extraordinary. It can also do the same for sweet breads, like banana bread.

Here is a simple banana bread recipe anyone can make that features the sweetness of both banana and Nutella in one simple bite. A little citrus from orange zest rounds out this amazing bread/dessert/breakfast.

Nutella Banana Bread

The key to making this bread will be getting the Nutella nice and melted. If you do not melt the Nutella before you add it to the recipe, it will cause clumps and the bread will not turn out right. Instead, put it into the microwave and cream it with the butter and sugar.

There is one caveat though: the Nutella will make the bread browner than regular banana bread, but it will, of course, taste like Nutella.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 bananas, finely diced
  • Cooking spray

Directions:
  1. Let the butter come to room temperature.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Put the Nutella in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it on full power for 30 seconds; remove from the microwave and stir; microwave another 30 seconds; repeat until the Nutella has become thin and can be poured.
  4. Put the butter and sugar into a stand mixer and begin combining them on medium. Once the butter and sugar are mixed (about 5 mintues), pour in the Nutella and let it get fully incorporated. Beat the egg yolks in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of the creamed butter into the yolks; add the eggs and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; turn the mixer on low and slowly pour the dry ingredients into butter; continue mixing until the ingredients are barely fully mixed; take the bowl off the mixer and fold in the bananas very gently.
  6. Pour the dough mix into two greased loaf pans and bake for 30 minutes, or until cooked all the way through; allow it to cool and eat!
