Maybe it seems -out-of-the-season to review Emeril's Creole Christmas and maybe not. While Emeril does give a personalized tour of holiday traditions, Louisiana style, this is one book that I would feel very comfortable using, year round, for special occasions, family gatherings or any time you want to add a little something extra.
The book clearly takes you through history and tradition of holiday customs in Louisiana. In "The Big Easy" holidays are about the family and friends. It is about welcoming people and sharing good food.
Within the pages of Emeril's Creole Christmas are four holiday menus complete with ORGANIZED shopping lists, more tips on cooking techniques all done with the aid of the magnificent photography of Christopher Hirsheimer.
As with Emeril's other books there is no lack of enthusiasm, every step is detailed to perfection and as always the book intertwines the history of the people of Louisiana as well as Emeril's own family traditions. Emeril's Creole Christmas is a moving story book with recipes. This could be the book that just might set the tone for you next holiday or special event!
